Shiva's Dance

This is a midi piece I did with Noteworthy Composer, a VERY useful program for those of us who are comfortable with manipulating written music for composistion; it is also an excellent learning tool for those of us who aren't. You can also import midi files into it and view the sheet music score, or print it- so it also serves a way for those of us who simply play by ear to actually be able to output sheet music for their composistions.

Enough about the tool, and on with a brief discussion of the music. First of all, unless you're running a SB AWE32 or better, this will sound like crap- unless you have a wavetable board connected to your 16-bit soundcard. I hope to get a reliable enough analog recorder to export the tracks and re-import them as .wav files for a re-mix into an MP3 format- but for now everybody will have to deal with the lousy midi.

Behind the Walls

This is something my buddy Matt and I did one night while we were over at his house playing around. It's multiple tracks of guitar, midi keyboard, and features one of my poems read in an Iron Maidenish kind-of voice. It's not really the most creative thing either one of us have done, but it was fun, and what the hell, I've got it in MP3 format so you can give it a listen.

It's got a black-sabbathish type feel, since the riff we use is basically the same one used in the song "Black Sabbath", changed around a bit in tempo and detail, but it's basically built on that riff.

You may get a kick out of it...

That's it for right now, but I hope to have a LOT more stuff here before too long.
